VueScan 8.6.03, released last week, also improved the selection of default buttons (when enter pressed). According to the developer, users of this feature will see a significant jump in performance. Recently, Hamrick Software has addressed a problem with HP PSC 2410 scanners, as well as improved automatic cropping. VueScan currently supports multiple different scanners on Windows. Requirements include Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) or later, and a supported scanner. It offers options for scanning faded slides and prints, batch scanning, IT8 color calibration and other advanced scanning features, as it supports more than 100 brands of negative films. On its website, Hamrick Software reveals that VueScan includes a built-in color calibration of scanners, producing colors that look true-to-life. VueScan supports around 1,000 scanners on Mac OS X alone. Available for Mac, Windows and Linux, the program assists users by automatically adjusting images to an optimum color balance, which reduces the need to work in Photoshop, or other graphic-editing programs. Hamrick Software has released version 8.6.05 of its cross-platform scanning software application, VueScan.
